A contemporary collection inspired by Ireland’s stone architecture and the historic role of wool within it.

Castle is a growing collection of hand knotted architectural Irish wool carpets inspired by Ireland’s stone-built heritage. Drawing upon the material character of Ireland’s castles, tower houses and fortified interiors, where wool brought warmth, acoustic softness, artistry and human scale. Historically, woven and knotted wool helped insulate these austere interiors, soften reverberation and define space.

Rhyme Studio reinterprets that relationship for contemporary architecture. Designed in Irish wool, the Castle collection treats the carpet not simply as a decorative surface, but as an architectural material - introducing texture, acoustic absorption, thermal comfort and material depth into today’s interiors. This continues the studio’s broader work to reposition wool as a high-performance, regenerative alternative to synthetic interior materials.

The first two Castle designs were introduced in New York in 2026. Built around strong geometric compositions and the visual language of masonry, thresholds, battlements and architectural rhythm, they establish the foundation for an evolving collection of new designs.

As Castle expands, the collection will continue to investigate the meeting point between historic Irish architecture and contemporary spatial design — translating the mass, geometry and permanence of stone into the softness, tactility and environmental intelligence of wool.
