Lanalux; where Light meets Sound & Purified Air. A Groundbreaking Acoustic Lighting Collection with Air-Purifying Wool Technology
Heritage woven Irish textiles, LEDs, acrylic diffusers, Irish Wool and wood frame
4’ Equilateral Triangle. Lead time 6-8 weeks
“For us wellness and true luxury in design is not about one solution, its about sustainably producing efficient and multi-faceted products that connect us to the real value of natural, healthy materials such as wool" says Claire McGovern, founder of Rhyme Studio.
Our first lighting design collection, Lanalux fuses regenerative Irish wool, sculptural lighting, acoustic comfort, and air purification into one singular wall-mounted design. More than a light fixture, Lanalux is a wellness system for the built environment. Each architectural panel integrates tunable LED lighting, dense Irish wool cores, and heritage textiles woven by some of Ireland’s oldest mills and weavers, Magee 1866 and Avoca (est. 1723). Produced for Rhyme Studio by Vibe by Vision, the result is a minimalist panel that softens sound, enhances mood, and quietly filters the air, while celebrating centuries of authentic Irish craft
The Science of Wool: Naturally Air-Purifying
At the core of each Lanalux panel is a compressed fleece of Irish sheep’s wool, a material known not just for its sound absorption but also its rare ability to remove indoor air pollutants like formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene. Each panel’s surface is upholstered with a thick, woven Magee 1866 or Avoca wool textile, which increases pollutant capture while adding texture and richness to the design.
Circadian Lighting for Human-Centric Spaces
Lanalux’s integrated tunable LED lighting follows the natural rhythm of daylight — cool tones for focus and energy, warmer tones for evening calm. The system supports KNX/DALI circadian programming and is compatible with smart controls, making it ideal for workspaces, hospitality, and wellness environments. All lighting elements are energy-efficient, low-voltage, and IP-rated for safety, using UL Class 2-certified components.
Design for Circularity
Every material in Lanalux is chosen for longevity, biodegradability, and recyclability. Once the wool fill reaches its maximum air-purification capacity (estimated at 10+ years), it can be removed, replaced and the original fill repurposed or composted. Panels are crafted using bio-based resins, natural fibers, and no toxic adhesives.
Heritage Meets Innovation
With this new lighting design, customers can choose from a curated selection of beautifully woven textiles from two of Ireland’s most important historic woolen mills and weavers whose craft spans centuries. Magee 1866, a fifth-generation family-owned mill founded in 1866 and Avoca, established in 1723, Lanalux Designs bring the ancient craft of Irish wool weaving and design for wellness into dialogue with groundbreaking contemporary design form
With Lanalux, centuries-old textile heritage is elevated into a next-generation wellness material. For further information and custom requests, please get in touch
