Inspired by the classical Spiral of Theodorus, Infinity is a departure from traditional carpet forms and a complex piece involving sixteen painstakingly selected subtle gradations of hand dyed Irish wool yarns. The shape evokes the duality of a spiral that is at the same time composed of a series of triangles. Designed in 2019, The Trinity Series is a sculptural rug or tapestry collection subverting the traditional belief that area rugs must be square or rectilinear forms. Considered one of the strongest and most perfect forms known to nature, the triangle is a multi-layered symbol.
